Financial Reporting Manager

Put your finance and accounting skills to workWHILE supporting one of the best known brands in the US! This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well-known company with a strong base of existing products and the opportunity to help support 10-Q, 10-K and SEC filings.

Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of the internal and external financial reporting, the accounting research and documentation relating to accounting issues, the reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts, the completion of month-end journal entries and other closing procedures and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities include:

Assist in the preparation of 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A to ensure timely and accurate filings
Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts
Complete month-end journal entries and other closing procedures
Conduct and document research regarding applicability of new accounting pronouncements or the application of existing pronouncements to company transactions
Actively monitor the activities of accounting standard setting bodies and regulatory authorities (FASB, SEC, EITF, etc.) to ensure the company is fully apprised of all current developments which impact or may impact its financial accounting and reporting requirements
Work with the external auditors to support their quarterly reviews and annual audit
Complete all required government reports (e.g., Census reports, DOL reports, etc.) to ensure timely filing
Prepare the financial statements for the employee benefit plans and coordinate the employee benefit plan audit engagements
Participate in other special projects, as needed

The qualified candidate will have:

B.S. or Masters in Accounting required
CPA required
SEC reporting experience either in public accounting or within a publicly-held company
Experience in a CPA firm with focus primarily on publicly traded clients is preferred
Minimum of 4 years accounting and financial reporting related work experience
Strong technical accounting skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
